Hilltop Industries was founded by parents more than three decades ago to provide work and vocational rehabilitation services to people with developmental disabilities in New York's Livingston and Wyoming counties.
The Hilltop Industries program has evolved over the years to provide a wide range of work and day programs that help people with disabilities to be independent, productive members of their communities by working, earning money and building skills.
As a complete vocational rehabilitation program, Hilltop Industries provides evaluation, training, and productive employment. Today, the program serves approximately 350 people through vocational and day habilitation programs.
In April 2007, Hilltop Industries earned certification to the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System Standard for its packaging and assembly operations at 3 East State Street, Mt. Morris, NY and 2569 East Avon-Lakeville Road, Avon, NY. ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is a highly recognized, non-governmental organization composed of a federation of national standards bodies from 157 countries. Its standards specify the requirements for state-of-the-art products, services, processes, materials, and systems.
With its latest achievement, Hilltop Industries joins a very select group of not-for-profit vocational rehabilitation programs to be certified to the ISO 9001:2008 standard, which provides a credible, third-party verification that a company meets customer requirements, continually improves processes, and deploys effective management systems. The number of similar programs across New York State with a similar designation is in the low single digits.
